ANZAC DAY CLOSURE
Please note that we will be CLOSED on Thursday 25th, and Friday 26th April, 2024. We will re-open on Monday 29th April. After conferring with a number of our customers and suppliers, it appears a number of associated businesses will be taking the four-day long weekend for themselves, which is perfectly understandable given the very few public holidays scheduled during the second half of a year. We are inclined to follow suit in order to provide our staff with a decent break, but we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We hope you have a safe and happy Anzac Day public holiday, and we'll see you next week. Thanks for your understanding.

A PERSONAL MESSAGE OF THANKS
Over the past few years, I've personally received dozens, if not hundreds of positive comments from our customers which compliment both the service we provide and their own personal experiences at the counter. As I'm usually hiding somewhere in the back working through emails or putting together outgoing orders, those comments and compliments aren't directed toward me, but to the wonderful staff we have working the counter through the day. The devotion to customer care, the dedication to excellence, and the drive to go further and to do more for our customers never ceases to make me proud (and very, very grateful) for the incredible staff we have here at Lee Bros. Engineering. While I'm pretending to work hard and seem busy, they really ARE working hard and keeping busy, and it's all for our customers and for doing the right thing by the people who support us, and who have given us the privilege of helping meet their needs. So, once again, if there's anything we can help you with, our friendly and highly-competent counter staff are always available to help in any way they can. Thank you again to our customers for all you do for us, and who we sincerely appreciate, and a very, very special thank you to our own counter staff, without whom it would be impossible to offer the standard of excellence we are all so passionate about.

NEW PRODUCTS AND GENERAL UPDATES
Having returned from the Easter long-weekend, we wanted to announce a new and much-requested product which is due to arrive in the next three to four weeks. The product is a thread-tester board made of solid aluminium and anodised a navy blue, with stainless male and female threads securely fastened in the frame. This is the first thread tester board of its type which we have been excited to carry in-store, as a number of similar units from other brands have been either of poor quality, prohibitively expensive, or both. These will be priced at $150.00 + GST through Lee Bros. Engineering, as per our usual trade rates on tools and fasteners. We will have a demonstration model at the counter for ourselves which customers can examine, although we currently only have an additional five units available for sale. As this is a new product it's uncertain if we will be able to source more in the future, but if they are available to us and prove popular, we will endeavour to keep at least a few on hand at all times. If you have any questions about this item, feel free to contact us any time.

On another note, our electronic inventory and point-of-sale system is progressing well, and we now have almost five-thousand products computerised. After having worked out a few more bugs, we can also now reliably create and review backorders through the system, and generate itemised invoices without needing to price each item by hand, or write out invoices in the old receipt books we used to have floating around the shop. As new features are added, a faster, more efficient, and more useful checkout procedure will benefit customers as much as our own staff, allowing us to save our customers' valuable time (as time is the one precious commodity we can't buy more of) while also giving us the choice of either printing or emailing invoices, among a number of other very useful features. Eventually, we may even be able to say that we've decidedly entered the 20th Century!

BACK TO NORMAL TRADING
We hope you all had a safe and happy holiday season! Just a quick note to let everyone know that we're back to normal trading hours (Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm). These will be our ongoing business hours for the rest of 2024 (excluding all NSW public holidays, of course) and this information can also be found on our Contact page, and on our Google listing. If you are ever in doubt, feel free to call the shop and we'll provide you with the most current and up-to-date information we have on hand.

Thanks again, and we look forward to serving you over the coming year!

SATURDAY HOURS CHANGES
After a great deal of careful consideration, we sincerely regret to inform our customers that as of January 2024, we will no longer be trading on Saturdays. Over the past two years, and for the first time in several decades, we began trading on the weekend as a convenience to our customers who couldn't make it down to see us through the week. Although it has been challenging, it has also been very rewarding, and all of us here have taken a great deal of personal and professional satisfaction from making our services more accessible to more people. Unfortunately, the current arrangement has proven unsustainable over the long term, and we feel that the most beneficial course of action would be to return to our usual Monday-Friday trading hours. This would allow us to provide even better service through the working week, with only minimal disruption to those customers who frequent our store on the weekend. For now, we will continue trading on Saturdays until the end of 2023, but we appreciate your understanding with respect to the planned changes.

WEBSITE MIGRATION
We have recently been informed that our website domain services will be migrated to a new provider from August 31st, 2023. Moreover, our website files and date hosting will also be migrated to a new provider at the end of October, 2023. This means that there may be some disruption to our website at these times, although we have been assured that the transition should be seamless. Nevertheless, it's worth mentioning here that, if you experience any interruption to the availability of our website online, it should only be a temporary situation and that the relevant parties are aware of the issue. Here's hoping all goes well!

MASSIVE TOOLS RESUPPLY
We have recently received an enormous tool shipment from a number of suppliers (about twenty boxes in all), and we've absolutely packed out our showroom with as much as we can possibly fit in there. We have everything from dead-blow mallets to various assortment kits, crowsfoot spanner attachments to extended bit holders and vernier calipers of all kinds. We even found a supplier who offers those furniture screws with the coarse thread on the outside for screwing into wood, and the metal thread on the inside for accepting regular bolts. We've been asked for those on and off for a while now, but we've only just been able to source them. Unfortunately, there's too much to put on the website directly, so your best bet might be to drop by and see what we have on display. Some items are limited in quantity as we're trying out their vaibility in the store, but if they're popular, we'll keep them as a regular item for the future.

COMPUTER INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRESS
Just a quick update to say that the development of our new, computerised inventory and point-of-sale system is progressing well, with the vast majority of the coding done and much of our time now being spent entering data. As anyone who has seen the shop knows, there's an incredible amount of product information to enter by hand, but once it's done, the new system should greatly reduce checkout time and administrative complexity. With any luck, we'll have the system deployed with new hardware somewhere around October of 2023, although we're hoping to have a functional alpha-release ready for testing in the next couple of months. Stay tuned for updates regarding the initial rollout.

NEW WEBSITE IN PRODUCTION
Over the course of this year, we're planning to deploy a new iteration of our website, including a fully functional online store. Additionally, we will be offering new Lee Bros. merchandise such as mugs, workshop decor, and even a line of clothing. Stay tuned over the course of 2023 for further updates!

CATALOGUES PAGE UPDATED
Due to numerous customer requests, our Catalogues page (available through the Products link above) has been updated to show which products are available through which supplier, with links to their own catalogues and websites provided. Although each supplier listed carries far, far more than is given in our very brief summary, at least our customers now have a general reference on hand and can see at a glance which catalogues are likely to carry the items they are most interested in. For more information, feel free to contact either ourselves, or the appropriate supplier.

NEW CHART AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD
A new chart is available in the Downloads section of the Lee Bros. Community page (see link in the menu above). Although rudimentary, it contains information regarding Imperial-to-metric diameter equivalents. This is a handy reference for those unfamiliar with Imperial fractions and the corresponding metric sizes. This chart is especially useful for those wanting to replace one type of bolt (either Imperial or metric) with the other on large projects, such as restoring an older vehicle with more-common and more readily-available thread types.

OPENING WEEKENDS
We're back for 2022, and we hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable new year. Opening hours are back to normal (Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm), but this year, we'll also be opening for a few hours on Saturdays due to popular demand. From March 5th, we'll be operating from 10am-2pm every Saturday, excluding public holidays. For specific dates, check this page for updates as to public holiday closures etc. As we move on into the future, this change may or may not remain permanent, but we're excited to try it out through the rest of 2022 so that we can provide our customers with greater flexibility, and to be able to reach the sector of our customers who simply can't make it down to the store during the week.

COVID RESTRICTIONS EASED
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers, suppliers, delivery people, and other visitors for their patience, understanding, and co-operation during this difficult time. Fortunately, we are able to accounce that the recent COVID restrictions have been lifted, and we can now offer you the service and expertise you have come to know and expect from Lee Bros. Engineering. Well, mostly, anyway. Unfortunately, masks and sign-ins are still required, but at least we can let people back into the store.

Thank you kindly for helping to keep things as normal as possible during the recent period. We sincerely and genuinely appreciate the assistance of our customers, and we work hard every day to return the favour. With any luck, we can all go back to normal sooner rather than later, but it's good to know that we have a community such as ours to help us along the way. Stay safe, and keep looking forward.

Kind regards, Jimmy & Ellye.

First in a line of small changes aimed at bringing Lee Bros. Engineering into the new millennium, the new website has been officially launched. The overall design has not only been streamlined, but is now fully mobile-friendly and geared toward ease of use, and general efficiency. Enjoy!

March 12th, 2021

A new "Lee Bros. Community" section is being designed to coincide with the launch of the new website. The new website is effectively presented in two parts; first, the business side with all pertinent information, similar to what could be found on the previous website. Secondly, the Community section will include free downloads of technical information, links to our own demonstrational YouTube videos, photographs of projects which make use of our products, plans for future charity involvement, and much more. We hope for this area to grow over the coming years, and for our customers and friends to both participate in, and benefit from what we have to offer - as a Community.

New uniforms and business cards are on the way, with a hotrod-'50s feel coupled with some new-millennial touches. Some significant design cues include urban camouflage with garage-style work shirts, embroidered logos, hand-painted business cards, pinstriped lettering, and our trademark colours of blue, white, and grey.
